About GRBF
The Greater Richmond Bar Foundation serves the public and legal profession by supporting, facilitating and promoting the delivery of pro bono legal services for non-profit organizations through the Pro Bono Clearinghouse, by providing financial support to others in greater Richmond who provide pro bono legal services, and by involvement in and sponsorship of law-related educational and service projects that encourage public understanding of, participation in and access to our justice system.

Brian R. Marron, President
Brian Marron practices law in the business section of Spotts Fain handling real estate, venture capital and finance matters and presently serves on the board of directors of the Richmond Bar Association.

Leslie Haley, Vice President-President-elect
Leslie Haley is the Assistant Ethics Counsel with the Virginia State bar. She authors and lectures on matters related to legal ethics, lawyer advertising and unauthorized practice of law. Leslie is a Past-President of the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association and the current Pro Bono Chair of the Chesterfield Bar Association.

Anne D. McDougall, Secretary
An attorney with Freed & Shepherd, P.C., Anne McDougall served as an adjunct professor at VCU’s Especially for Nonprofits program. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Randolph-Macon College, the Board of Regents of James Monroe Law Office Museum and Memorial Library, and the board of directors of The Carver Promise, Hanover Safe Place and Assisting Families of Inmates.

Gerald W. S. Carter, Treasurer
A partner in Harrell & Chambliss, Gerald Carter’s practice includes business/tax, estate planning, real estate and creditors rights matters. He is also a certified public accountant and an adjunct professor with the University of Richmond School of Law.

Christopher M. Malone, Immediate Past President
Chris Malone serves as president and managing director of Thompson & McMullan law firm and is active in a number of charitable organizations in the greater Richmond area devoted to homeless services. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as well as a number of other organizations.

A partner at McGuireWoods, Bill Broaddus is a litigator who is Past President of the Richmond Bar Association and is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.

Tyler P. Brown
Tyler Brown is a Partner in Hunton & Williams LLP and Co-Chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights practice group. Tyler is a member of the American College of Bankruptcy, a member of the Board of Governors of the Bankruptcy Section of the Virginia State Bar, and President of the Bar Association of the City of Richmond.

Tara L. Casey
Tara Casey directs the Carrico Center for Pro Bono Services at the University of Richmond Downtown office which serves as a center for collaboration with non-profit and government entities and supports the University’s commitment to community engagement.

Thomas A. Edmonds
Tom Edmonds is a former law teacher and law school dean, and most recently retired in 2008 after almost twenty years of service as Executive Director of the Virginia State Bar.

Ben Lacy is a Principal with Sands Anderson and concentrates his practice on the life, health, property and casualty insurance industry.

Courtney M. Malveaux
The Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Labor & Industry, Courtney Malveaux has taught Forensic Evidence at Virginia Commonwealth University, and now teaches Law Skills at University of Richmond School of Law. Courtney is a Past President of Hill-Tucker Bar Association and is the Vice Chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Living History and Public Policy Center.

George Marget, Assistant General Counsel-Litigation at Dominion Resources Services, Inc., currently serves on the board of The Carver Promise, is a faculty member of the AEGIS Claims Roundtable and volunteers through a number of programs including the Pro Bono Hotline at Central Virginia Legal Aid Society and the Pro Bono Housing Project at Legal Aid Justice Center.

Thomas M. Wolf
Tom Wolf heads both the General Counsel Practice and the Construction Law Practice of LeClairRyan and is a frequent lecturer on construction law, litigation, employment law and international law, both in the U.S. and abroad. He is former President of the International Alliance of Law Firms, a network of business-oriented law firms from around the world.
