The Foundation has partnered with the VCU School of Social Work and the University of Richmond Law School to design a program to enhance the delivery of services to the prisoner re-entry community.

This program will operate in conjunction with the U.S. Probation Office's SCORE Program (Second Chance-Offender Rehabilitation Effort.

 

 


  

 

Alternative Education Programs for City Youth

The Greater Richmond Bar Foundation
 

serves the public and legal profession by supporting, facilitating and promoting the delivery of pro bono legal services for non-profit organizations through the Pro Bono Clearinghouse, by providing financial support to others in greater Richmond who provide pro bono legal services, and by involvement in and sponsorship of law-related educational and service projects that encourage public understanding of, participation in and access to our justice system.

The objectives of the Foundation will be accomplished through the promotion of volunteerism, fund raising, grants designed to supplement local bar initiatives and the advancement of programs identified by the Foundation.

 

The Foundation acts as the charitable arm of six local bar associations:

Bar Association of the City of Richmond, Chesterfield County Bar Association, Hanover County Bar Association, Henrico County Bar Association, Old Dominion Bar Association, and the Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association.

Each of these associations is represented on the Foundation’s board of directors.
