JusticeServer Campaign
On January 12, 2012, Capital One hosted an event to unveil the fruit of a year-long private-public partnership* and kickoff the necessary fundraising. In addition to over 300 hours, Capital One’s General Counsel John Finneran donated $25,000 on behalf of Capital One to GRBF for Phase One of the campaign to fund JusticeServer. In a strong show of support of the project, Richmond area’s largest law firms have made pledges to support this project:
Pledges of $25,000 each were made by McGuireWoods, LeClairRyan, Hunton & Williams, Williams Mullen and Troutman Sanders. In addition, pledges of $10,000 each were made by Spotts Fain P.C. and Murphy & McGonigle, P.C..

*Since January 2011, the Greater Richmond Bar Foundation has worked with Capital One, CVLAS, LAJC and Firms In Service-Richmond to solve the inefficiencies of the legal aid service system. With tightened budgets in a time of critical need, Legal Aid needs the pro bono services of the private bar volunteers more than ever. Yet, CVLAS and LAJC are hampered by limited technology, and private attorneys have difficulties connecting to the pro bono opportunities. The solution is JusticeServer, a secure on-line case management system that will upgrade legal aid’s technology in-house while allowing pro bono attorney volunteers the ability to access pro bono cases from any internet connection.
