Task Force Goals: To monitor the development stages of JusticeServer 2.0 both for state and national distribution

Exciting news in the world of JusticeServer®!  After years of pilot testing, fundraising and planning, we are finally underway with the JusticeServer 2.0 build! Thanks to the generosity of the Virginia Law Foundation, we have maintained a successful pilot serving the central Virginia area since 2012. Thanks to the grants and project assistance from Capital One, we have almost 1000 volunteers registered to help legal aid with their immense case loads. The Core Team from Legal Aid Justice Center (LAJC), Central Virginia Legal Aid Society (CVLAS) and GRBF have worked hard for years to keep this project and its vision alive since the pilot launch. Thanks to the impressive pilot and the ideas of the team, we were able to secure two major grants in 2015.  The Legal Services Corporation has granted $250,000 towards the expansion of the pilot to a statewide system and the creation of a prototype for national use. In November 2015, the Salesforce Foundation selected JusticeServer as one of its global Force For Change grantees! Click here for more about Force For Change grant. The Salesforce Foundation funded 7 nonprofits with the most innovative, forward-thinking technology projects that have the capacity to accelerate social impact.  With this grant, we will develop a JusticeServer product that is available to any legal aid service organization for use as a case management system and volunteer portal across the U.S.

This month, after a competitive proposal process, we selected Atlanta-based, TechBridge as our development partner for the JusticeServer 2.0 path. TechBridge is a nonprofit focused on alleviation of poverty through technology solutions.  They have developed Salesforce systems for the homeless services and food bank arenas thus far. TechBridge views legal services for low income individuals as the next vertical sector for the climb out of poverty. The mission alignment of this organization with the purpose of JusticeServer is a perfect fit.

Stay tuned for more details to come as we work with them to create an all-new JusticeServer!
