Pro Bono Clearinghouse Volunteer of the Year

Pro Bono Clearinghouse Volunteer of the YearJamie Barber, an associate at Hunton & Williams, was awarded the Foundation’s Pro Bono Clearinghouse Volunteer of the Year Award at a reception hosted by Dominion Resources on Thursday, October 27, 2011.  Jamie has been providing pro bono legal services through the Pro Bono Clearinghouse since 2006 and in that time has handled eleven matters for local nonprofit organizations. During the past year alone he provided over 28 hours in pro bono work valued at over $13,000.  Nonprofits benefitting from his services during the past year include St. John’s Child Development Center, A.C.O.R.N., Goochland Free Clinic and One by One Initiative.  Executives and board members of local nonprofits were in attendance along with attorneys who volunteer or are interested in volunteering through the Pro Bono Clearinghouse program. The Foundation is grateful to Dominion and McGuireWoods for sponsoring this event.
