3rd Annual Jazz 4 Justice Guest Conductor: Andrew Freiden

The Jazz4Justice Committee is pleased to announce that local meteorologist Andrew Freiden will serve as this year’s Guest Conductor!

Andrew Freiden is well know in Richmond as the morning Meteorologist and Executive Weather producer at NBC12.

A graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A in Environmental Sciences,  Andrew holds the AMS Seal of Approval and often wins “Best Meteorologist” and “Best TV Personality” in local Richmond online and print publications. Andrew’s TV career began in 1997 in Roanoke at WDBJ-7 when he moved from behind the scenes to a job as the weekend weathercaster and nightside news reporter.

But not only does Andrew know weather & news, he also has a music background. He was first chair trombone in the all-regional band in Northern Virginia when he was in 8th grade. But then he quit playing trombone to play basketball, which according to him, “was a big mistake!” While attending UVA, Andrew sang bass in the Hullabahoos A Cappella group.

We are excited to see what Andrew brings as Guest Conductor to this year’s Jazz4Justice!
